Bonsai changes slowly, which makes it easy to forget why a branch was left to extend, when a tree was last repotted, or what the canopy looked like before a prune.

A lightweight journal keeps the useful details close:

  • photos before and after major work
  • watering, feeding, pruning, wiring, and repotting dates
  • health notes when leaves, roots, or pests need attention
  • design intent for the next season

Kigi is built around that long view. The goal is not to record everything. It is to keep the few notes that help the next decision feel calmer and more informed.
